Melon and Pineapple Agua Fresca

Sharp kitchen knife for carving and cutting fruits
High-powered blender for blending the ingredients together
Mesh strainer for extracting the juice from the pulp
Pitcher for combining all of the ingredients
Spouted bowl
Measuring cups and spoons
Funnel
Large Pitcher or Container with lid for transporting to a gathering
- 1 cantaloupe halved, seeded, peeled, and roughly chopped
- 3/4 cup sweetener of choice
- 5 cups water
- 1 pineapple peeled, small dice
- ice cubes per serving glass
Combine the cantaloupe and sugar in a blender and puree until smooth.
Transfer the puree to a 3-quart pitcher, and add the water and pineapple.
Stir well to combine, making sure that the sugar has completely dissolved.
Serve in tall chilled glasses filled with ice.
Chef’s Note: For a time saver and short cut, feel free to purchase pre-cut cantaloupe in your grocer’s produce section. However, here is a link that will teach you how to correctly cut a melon. Be sure to CHILL glasses! You may need to blend this agua fresca in batches depending on the container size of your blender.
